Payson Library Remodel and Renovation

May 6, 2016  | 1 min read

Starting Monday, May 9, Payson Library will begin operating out of the Drescher Graduate Campus Library during a 15-month renovation. Seaver students and faculty on campus for summer sessions should visit the Drescher Campus Library, where all services will be available. A second location, the Library Hub on the first floor of TAC, will open in the fall to provide all essential services. Reference materials, course reserves, and DVDs will be available for checkout at each location, and inter-library loan pick-up, reference help, study space, and other library resources will be available. Special Collections will operate out of Drescher Graduate Campus Library for the duration of the renovation. The Library Hub will also feature a mini-Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) and the reinstalled Digital Learning Lab for information literacy instruction.

Renovations to Payson Library include transforming the existing facility into a more open and collaborative environment and reinvigorating the surrounding spaces for academic use. This project will add much needed study and learning space and also replace aging wiring, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

During the renovations, a temporary off-site book storage at the Calabasas facility will be available to fulfill requests to retrieve additional resources. Beginning May 23, the collections based at the Calabasas facility will be available for delivery to campus on very short notice.
