Pepperdine Family Camp

Peek inside a day in the life of Pepperdine Family Camper Meriam Hansen (’91, JD ’95) during last year’s fun!

7:30 AM - I woke up to a fresh ocean breeze filling the room and grabbed a hot cup of coffee from the Hospitality Lounge before making my way to enjoy breakfast with my family overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

10 AM - On our way to hike the Los Liones Trail, Megan, the camp director, showed me a sweet photo that a student leader snapped of my son, Christopher, during the Puppy Party at Kids Camp. Kyle and I hit the dirt with the other parents to hike to the top of Parker Mesa Overlook! Here we caught panoramic views that swept from Malibu all the way to Downtown L.A.

2 PM - After learning the basics on land, my family and I took to the water to surf some waves!

The instructors were with us every step of the way, and Kyle and Matthew even got the opportunity to surf the same wave!

8 PM - We ended the day with side-splitting laughter at the “Fammys” —Pepperdine Family Camp’s talent show. Featuring jokes about gummy bears, animal skits, and a camp-wide sing-a-long to “Let It Go,” this night left us with memories that will last a lifetime.

“It’s a great family vacation in a beautiful setting that is reasonably priced, and it gives you the opportunity to reconnect with Pepperdine people.”

Meriam Hansen is one of seven School of Law alumni who attended Pepperdine Family Camp last summer with her family. Hailing from the Greater Sacramento area, the Hansen family also attended Pepperdine Family Camp in its inaugural summer of 2013, as well as in the summer of 2015.

Registration is officially open for Pepperdine Family Camp’s fifth summer of fun. This year, you can choose between The Weekender (an all-inclusive three-day weekend getaway) or The Classic (an all-inclusive five-day family vacation) on Malibu’s beachside campus.

The Weekender: July 14 to 16, 2017

The Classic: July 19 to 23, 2017
