Granados: Hollywood Must Overcome Its Digital Blind Spots To Survive The Transformation

In his latest Forbes blog, Dr. Nelson Granados, Pepperdine Graziadio Business School Associate Professor of Information Systems, highlights work by his colleague Devendra Mishra, Pepperdine professor of digital supply chain and Chairman of the Hollywood IT Society, who coined the term “digital blind spots.” These digital blind spots refer to the fact that over the last few year as digital distributors like Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon emerged the reaction in many executive suites has been to ignore or put aside their competitive power and potential to transform TV and film distribution. Dr. Granados says “the challenge in 2016 for TV, film, and pay-TV executives will be to fully overcome any blind spots left about the future of digital distribution, in order to develop sound digital strategies.
