USAID Executive Alexis Bonnell ('99) to Speak at Payson Library

Alexis BonnellAlexis Bonnell, chief innovation officer of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will present two lectures in the Surfboard Room at Payson Library on Thursday, March 14.

At 11 AM, Bonnell will explore “Innovation and International Relations,” focusing on the power of science, technology, innovation, and partnership (STIP) in international relations and development.

At 2 PM, the Seaver College alumna will present "Reflections on Life and Career: From Pepperdine to the UN, USAID, and Beyond,” where she will highlight her personal and professional journeys, and discuss how Pepperdine University helped springboard her into an impressive career in international development.

Over the course of her career, Bonnell has developed and delivered over a billion dollars of humanitarian and development programming in over 25 conflict, post-conflict, and emergency countries, in almost every sector from education to stabilization, for more than 30 international bilateral donors, 10 United Nations agencies, the military, and the private sector.
